Get Involved

There are a number of ways you can get involved. First of all, if you haven't done so already please sign the e-petition!. Once you've done that, you will soon be able to enter your email address on this page and we'll keep you informed of developments and any events we may plan in future through a newsletter.

Send Emails!

We have a yahoo email list set up, which is really useful for getting in touch with other members and just generally keeping up-to-date with what's going on. Click here to join this list and exchange thoughts and ideas (you can unsubscribe easily at any time).

For those that use facebook, there is also a group set up on there (called "Save the South") that you can invite your friends to join. This could be a very effective way of drumming up support if it takes off... (it hasn't got off the ground yet yet so we need your help here!)

If you'd like to do something simple yet effective, how about just sending an email to everyone you know with a link to the e-petition? These things can spread like wild fire - especially if you make the message compelling enough for each recipient to forward it to everyone they know... We will be creating a template 'viral' email to use for this, but in the meantime feel free to write your own messages (they may well be more effective than a pre-written one anyway).

Be Active - The South Needs You!

We really need to people to get much more heavily involved. On this site we will be offering printable leaflets and paper versions of the petition that you will be able to download, print out and hand out in your local area to spread the word! Handing out leaflets from door-to-door, in supermarkets, at local groups, etc. will help to gain support very quickly. Until this site is fully complete, the best way to get in touch is by email. the email address to use is on our contact us page.
